- Everything in the universe has three main aspects to it, which are its “body”, its “spirit”, and its “mind” - “Body” is a thing’s physicality. Things that only have body and no spirit or mind are inanimate objects. - “Spirit” is a thing’s “life strength”. Life has a specific meaning in this setting, and the stronger this “life” is, the more “spirit” it is said to have. Things that only have spirit and no body are incorporeal creatures such as ghosts and deities. - The concept of Life, as a domain, is created from the God’s choice to organize its thoughts into independent sections of its own mind; the first living entity was Teleos, the Deity of Order, followed by the Galos, the Deity of Life, and subsequent beings were created as the God partitioned the universe into smaller and smaller entities. Besides the reason for each entity to be created, each of these entities has an innate impulse to continue existing. - Death, in this context, occurs when an entity loses or gives up that impulse. As such, death corresponds specifically to the non-existence of that impulse. - Creatures whose body can no longer sustain life, but who still have the impulse, remain as spirits, such as ghosts. - Creatures whose body can no longer sustain life, and have lost the impulse, slowly fall along the axis of Death, and into the plane of existence that better aligns with that creature’s nature, such as Mount Celestia or the Nine Hells. - Things that have spirit, regardless of whether they have body or mind, are called “creatures”. Strictly speaking, plants are also creatures. - “Mind” is a thing’s consciousness and intellect. Since the universe exists in the mind of the Primordial Consciousness, “mind” is the prime essence of the universe itself. “Mind” allows a thing to perceive and to alter the universe. - All magic stems from the ability to alter the universe through mind. - There are entities that exist outside of the universe. These entities have a mind of their own, and can influence the Primordial Consciousness’ mind in many ways. In particular, certain creatures, created by these entities, can sometimes inhabit the universe. Although these creatures’ existence and how the universe reacts to them are still part of the Primordial Consciousness, their thoughts and actions lie outside of its control. In legends, these creatures are called Fateweavers (as in “they weave their own fate”). - These “entities” are the players. The Fateweavers are the player characters.
